The Ministry of Culture launched a new initiative titled 'Reading Space', in co-operation with Qatar Reads, an initiative of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development.
This initiative, organised by the Ministry's Libraries Department in Lagoona Mall, is scheduled to continue until Feb 22, 2022.
The Director of the Libraries Department at the Ministry of Culture Jassim Al Buainain said that the initiative is being held within the framework of keenness to strengthen the community of young readers and their families.
This comes within a series of partnerships that are held between the Ministry of Culture and Qatar Reads, pointing out that the initiative is scheduled to circulate in several different places during the coming period, where coordination will be made with several authorities, such as public parks, complexes, and various tourist places, to be in the middle of the most crowded places, he stressed.
Many surprises are awaiting the children and their families if they wish to visit this cultural forum, he explained.
He also noted that there is a great variety in the books available in the reading space, which target all segments of society.
Through its cooperation with the Department of Libraries in the Ministry of Culture, Qatar Reads aims to raise the habit of reading nationwide in a comprehensive, attractive and appropriate manner, showing new ways of seeing the world from different perspectives. (QNA)
