The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines - Qatar Chapter, held its 2021 inter-colour basketball league opening ceremonies recently at Al Rayyan Stadium.
Labour attaché Adam A Musa, guest speaker from Philippine Overseas Labour Office - Philippine embassy, graced the event and delivered an inspirational message to the attendees highlighting the support that IIEE-SQC is providing its members at the time of global pandemic.
The event was also attended by 2018 IIEE-founding governor engineer Robert U Mabulay and the league’s first-ever sponsors McDonald’s Qatar, represented by Chezka Felize Bartolo and Syrill Reyes, and Figaro Coffee by Sameera Ruwan Hapugala, Angela Marie Rizalda and Cherry Lou Guevarra.
Three point shootout by each of the nine teams and the chapter elders were won by engineer Prince Sorra and 2013 former president engineer Edgardo Bernardino, respectively. The teams’ muses strut was won by the Black Teams’ Nicole Mae G Andrade.
The opening ceremony was under the leadership of chapter president Rudilyn S Reyes, PRO and Sport’s Committee chairman Mario M Solang and the league commissioners Reuel E Baes and Gary R Desacula.
The event, which saw the participation of more than 200 members of the chapter, was the first in almost two years.
