Qatar Tourism and partner Mowasalat (Karwa) have garnered an "overwhelmingly positive" public response to their 'Iconic Limousine Design' competition.
With more than 450 designs, a Qatar Tourism committee will review and shortlist entries based on identified criteria. Due to the large number of submissions, this review period will now end on November 22, after which shortlisted designs will simultaneously be put to a public and jury vote, from November 23 to 30.
Part of Qatar Tourism’s Service Excellence programme, the 'Iconic Limousine Design' contest features reflections on Qatar’s culture and heritage, progressive future, or sustainability and eco-friendly vision.
Shortlisted designs will be those that best meet the contest criteria. A jury panel will review the shortlisted designs and select a design to adorn a new fleet of electric limousines for travellers and residents. This process will occur at the same time as the public vote, whereby the design with the most votes will receive the 'People’s Design Choice' award.
"The 'Iconic Limousine Design' contest is part of Qatar Tourism’s Service Excellence programme. Through this, Qatar Tourism collaborates with sector stakeholders to ensure an unparalleled visitor experience across each touchpoint of the journey," a press statement noted.
