Qatar Chamber chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani held a meeting Sunday with Paraguay’s Minister of Industry and Commerce Luis Alberto Castiglioni to discuss ways to boost commercial and investment cooperation relations of both countries.
The meeting, which was attended by Paraguay ambassador Angel Ramon Barchini and Qatar Chamber board members Mohamed bin Ahmed al-Obaidly and Mohamed Sultan al-Jaber, also discussed both sides’ investment climate and the available opportunities for the private sectors of Qatar and Paraguay.
Sheikh Khalifa lauded the “distinct relations” of both countries, noting that Qatar-Paraguay trade exchange stood at $7mn in 2020. He underscored the importance of mutual visits and meetings between businessmen from both countries and exploring the possibility of establishing joint businesses in either Qatar or Paraguay to help increase bilateral trade exchange.
Castiglioni also invited Qatari businessmen to invest in Paraguay, citing investment opportunities for Qataris in sectors like food products, natural energy, auto manufacturing, pharmaceutical industries, forests products, flowers, and textiles.
