Victoria Honoridez of DPS Modern Indian School participated in the 'For, Not For' International School Debate Tournament hosted by Vijaybhoomi University (India) on October 10, and secured a position among the top four speakers.
Victoria, along with the other three debaters, intensely debated on issues concerning and questioning developed nations and their responsibilities to refugees, as well as the relevance of patent waivers, after making the qualifying cut for the top four speakers.
Victoria narrowly missed the Grand Finals by half a point. However, she qualified to join the university right away as an intern researcher. The competition provided her with an "unforgettable experience while also honing her argumentative and critical-thinking abilities", a press statement noted.
