Qatar Charity (QC) implemented the school bag distribution project for the year 2021-2022, in co-operation with Unicef, and in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Science in Kyrgyzstan, benefitting 7,000 orphaned and poor students in 25 schools in Chuy Province.
The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Nurlan Omurov, Unicef representative Christine Jolm, Sokuluk region mayor Kurbanbek Aitibayev, and QC’s Kyrgyzstan office acting director Mohamed Homam al-Samman.
Omurov congratulated teachers, parents, and students on the start of the school year, wishing them success in their studies. He thanked the government and people of Qatar for the assistance they have been providing to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan in various fields, praising QC’s efforts to support the Kyrgyz people by implementing various projects, especially in the fields of health and education.
Al-Samman said this project stems from QC’s belief that education is the mainstay of development in all countries. He added that QC, through this project, seeks to provide students with educational attainment tools, and help the parents meet their children’s school needs.
The parents of the beneficiary students expressed their happiness with this support from the people of Qatar, which relieved them of the burdens, thanking them for extending support to this project.
QC sponsors 8,065 persons, including orphans and poor families, as well as provides them with comprehensive social care services such as educational, health care, cultural, development, and sports services. It is currently implementing 503 different projects to build health centres, hospitals, schools, kindergartens, information technology schools and other educational institutions in various regions of the country.
The construction of four schools is expected to be completed before the end of 2021.
