MES Indian School celebrated Teachers’ Day on the virtual platform to honour teachers for their commitment and supreme contribution to the lives of pupils.
K Abdul Karim, president, MES governing board was the chief guest. “We are grateful for the sacrifices that teachers make for the betterment of students and duly acknowledge their relentless service for the growth and development of the modern society,” he said.
Applauding the skills of teachers in shifting to the technology- driven teaching, principal Hameeda Kadar said that in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, teachers have exhibited great resilience and innovation in ensuring the learning process goes on ceaselessly.
Kadeeja Beevi A, staff secretary, junior section, felicitated teachers on the occasion. Teachers, who have put in 10, 15, and 20 years of service in the institution, were honoured. The recorded tributes of students hailing teachers and their noble service, rendition of medley of songs, video presentation glorifying teaching profession added colour to the programme. Section wise special assemblies were conducted in which students paid glowing tribute to their mentors for their guidance and support.
Among others present on the occasion were school senior vice president Dr Najeeb K P, vice president Khaleel A P, deputy general secretary Ahamed Isham, directors Kashif Jaleel (academics), M C Mohamed (co-curricular & cultural activities), and other members of the school governing board, officials and teachers.
Rema Devi and Fiona Mary D’ Cruz from the department of English compered the programme. Staff secretaries Zeenath Jalal and Limia Pressi welcomed the attendees and proposed a vote of thanks, respectively.
Cultural co-ordinators Anver K and Sumitha Nassar co-ordinated the cultural segment of the event.
The ICT department under the guidance of Haroon Mohamed provided technical support.
