The Qatari Forum for Authors held the 13th session of the 'Qatar Mirqat of Oratory' initiative at the Ministry of Culture and Sports. The event comes within the activities of 'Doha-Capital of Culture in the Islamic World for 2021'.
In his speech, linguistic expert and supervisor of the initiative, Dr Ahmed al-Janabi, said the session is considered the third round of critical oratories, where speakers listen to a typical speech and then criticise it constructively. The criticism in this tour will focus on body language.
Famous speeches have been orated, and oratory-related body language have been defined during the sessions.
Abdullah al-Khalaf ??? said body language can be expressive or confusing. Some people are able to master body language, by expressing it and emphasising their speech, while others tend to express very little or stand still- not moving at all, which highly effects the quality and impact or their speeches, he added.
Dr al-Janabi also announced the names of the winners in this round of the Mirqat initiative.
Among the speakers, Ayat Hamad won the first place, while Hafsa Rakrak came second. The third place has been withheld.
