To nurture students’ latent talents through enriching learning activities towards holistic development, MES Indian School recently conducted a virtual summer camp for the students from Grade I to VIII.
The summer camp was inaugurated by Principal Hameeda Kadar. Speaking on the occasion, the principal said that such initiatives would help students to develop their innate talents besides familiarising them with their existing skills. The four-day virtual camp was structured to allow students to design their own educational journey by engaging themselves in different fun-filled activities.
Each day began with the practice of yoga, martial arts, meditation and fitness activities. Games on enhancing memory, fun with languages, word search, journey through Malayalam folk forms, dance and freeze, origami, scavenger hunt, creating prints and puppet making, Hindi word games, pebble art, and fun with science were the major activities conducted on the inaugural day of the camp.
The second day witnessed ‘Coffee with Principal’, a session wherein the principal advised the students to utilise their holidays in a fruitful manner and urged them to stay safe. The session was followed by various interesting activities like mathematics wizard, physics in daily life, storytelling, spell bee, cooking without fire, drawing tricks and tips, rise and shine, musical theatre and making summer drink etc.
Activities on the penultimate day of the camp included; puzzles, quizzes and games, followed by a virtual tour to exotic destinations, card making activity, drawing using numbers and alphabet, movie time and snack and chat.
The final day had the closing ceremony with a host of fascinating activities such as fashion fiesta, my dad super hero and cook without fire and a video presentation showing the glimpses of various fun-filled and enriching activities of the summer camp.
