Qatar Charity (QC) has signed an agreement with College of the North Atlantic–Qatar (CNA-Q) to co-operate in the developmental and humanitarian field.
The pact was signed by Yousef bin Ahmed al-Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity, and Dr Salem Al-Naemi, president of CNA-Q.
The agreement aims to promote the values of volunteerism among youth, involve them in humanitarian work, and utilise their energies to carry out community service and contribute to development in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, QC has said in a statement.
The agreement focuses on co-operation in conducting humanitarian studies and research, promoting the values of voluntary work, fostering a sense of social solidarity among youths and utilising events, conferences and forums to support the mutual goals of the two parties.
It also seeks to contain humanitarian and charitable initiatives, attract and mobilise youth efforts for volunteering, and take advantage of training courses related to the matters of the developmental and humanitarian work, the statement explains.
Al-Kuwari welcomed the co-operation with of CNA-Q in the developmental and humanitarian field. He hoped that the agreement would play a key role in development and the strengthening of community participation, especially as it brings together two Qatari institutions working in vital important areas, namely humanitarian and developmental work and education.
Al-Kuwari noted that QC is keen to sign agreements with other academic institutions for the benefit of people in Qatar and to contribute to the development of Qatar.
Dr Al-Naemi expressed delight with this co-operation with Qatar Charity, which plays a significant role in the humanitarian field worldwide and contributes to the community service greatly.
He said the signing of the agreement comes within the framework of CNA-Q’s endeavour to co-operate with all institutions interested in development and promotion of the values of solidarity and community service, adding that CNA-Q believes in the role of youth, especially students, in supporting voluntary and humanitarian work.
Dr Al-Naemi added that this coo-peration is part of CNA-Q’s responsibility towards its society.
