A fire described as "limited" broke out in an operation site in Greater Burgan oil field in southeastern Kuwait on Monday morning, Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) announced.

KOC spokesman and Deputy CEO for Administrative Affairs Qusai Al Amer said in a statement reported by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that had no impact on oil production operations, adding that firefighters and response teams rushed to the site and succeeded in controlling the fire.

Al Amer noted that two oil workers of a contracting company were slightly injured and were whisked to the hospital and their conditions are stable.

He said that an investigation would be launched over the causes of the fire.
