Aspiring singers can participate in the 'Voice of World' online singing contest, which will be held in the Hindi and Telugu languages initially, the organisers have said.
Doha Music Lovers Group, along with Channel 5, is organising the online event.
Syed Rafi, founder and director of Doha Music Lovers Group and Channel 5 said this is one of the best platforms for budding singers to showcase their talent to the world. The last date to register and submit videos for the contest is June 6 and auditions will start after that.
The auditions will be telecast on Channel 5's social media platforms.
"To make the process simple for participants, we have come up with a website (www.voiceofworld.co.in) where they can upload their singing videos after registering themselves," he said.
There will be a prize money of INR100,000, followed by a chance to work in a music video album produced by Channel 5 and M.Paul Records.
In total, 30 singers will be shortlisted from the auditions and they will take part in the "ultimate battle to win the title of Channel 5 Voice of World 2021", according to a press statement by the organisers. The contestants will be chosen by a panel of judges and through public voting.
The event is being supported by companies such as Dana World Cont Co, Telangana Food Suncons and others.
Dana World Cont Co director Gadde Srinivas said, "Providing the right platform is extremely important in promoting artistes and their art, and I feel privileged to be a part of the legacy."
Telangana Food Suncons managing director Praveen Kumar Buyyani said, “This is one of the best platforms considering the present scenario of Covid-19, wherein the participants can participate with ease from the comfort of their homes."
Mohinder Jalandhary of M.Paul Records noted, "We are excited to see and celebrate immensely gifted singers and showcase them to our millions of listeners.”
Jawed Bajwa, a singer from Pakistan, thanked the Voice of World organisers for coming up with such an initiative, which is one of the best ways to keep artistes occupied and motivate them to perform better.
Arif, a well-known name in Doha's musical scene, said it is an honour to be part of such a big initiative and that he expects the event to be one of the best online singing contests, which people will remember and appreciate.
