The South Security Department at the General Directorate of Public Security, Ministry of Interior (MoI), has honoured two persons for saving lives.
In a post on social media Sunday, the MoI said the South Security Department honoured a 12-year-old girl, Rimas Rashid al-Afifa al-Marri, in appreciation of her efforts to save the life of her uncle, who experienced a health emergency at home.
The girl administered the necessary first aid to her uncle before seeking help by calling the emergency number, 999.
Rimas's father received the honour on her behalf and thanked the MoI, describing it as a generous gesture indicating concern for the safety of community members.

Lara Ali Mohamed being honoured for her efforts

Stressing that his daughter's actions were the result of her prior knowledge of how to give first aid, he said he was keen to educate her and his other children on how to give emergency first aid. He also urged other parents to teach their children about safety and security measures in order to face such risks.
The South Security Department also honoured Egyptian national Lara Ali Mohamed in appreciation of her efforts in saving a person from drowning in the Sealine area while swimming, as she dragged him to the shore with the help of others.
The department expressed its thanks and appreciation for such efforts, urging all seagoers to exercise caution, take the necessary precautions, use security and safety tools, and not go to beaches without knowing the area to ensure their safety.
