More exemptions from Covid-19 restrictions will be made in the future when a larger proportion of the population receives the Covid-19 vaccination, a senior health official has said.
Dr Abdullatif al-Khal, chair of the National Strategic Group on Covid-19 and head of the Infectious Diseases Division at Hamad Medical Corporation, made the remark while speaking on the demands of those who have received the vaccine to be excluded from some restrictions, Qatar News Agency reported.
A “number of exceptions have been made in this framework, and there will be more exceptions in the future when a larger proportion of the population receives the vaccination”, he said during a press conference yesterday.
He noted that the exceptions now are for those who have received two doses of the vaccine. Such persons are exempted from quarantine upon return from travel as well as from quarantine when contacting the infected if the test result is negative, along with some other matters such as social gatherings wherein only the vaccinated are allowed to gather, according to the QNA report.
