The designated authorities referred 304 people to the Public Prosecution for violating the precautionary and preventive measures enforced by the country to curb the spread of Covid-19, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported on Tuesday.

Of them, 266 people were referred to the Public Prosecution for not wearing masks in places where they are mandatory, while 25 were found violating the rule limiting the number of people allowed in a vehicle.

According to the rule, a maximum of four persons – including the driver – are allowed in a vehicle except when the occupants are members of the same family.

Also, five people were referred to the Public Prosecution for violating quarantine requirements and eight others for not installing the Ehteraz app on their mobile phones, QNA said.

The measure is in line with a Cabinet decision and Decree Law No 17 of 1990 on infectious diseases, and the precautionary measures in force in the country to contain the spread of Covid-19.

The authorities have called on the public to adhere to the Covid-19 precautionary measures to ensure their safety and that of others.
