His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani patronised the14th Education Excellence Day Award ceremony, which took place at Doha Sheraton on Monday.
The ceremony was attended by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani, a number of Sheikhs and Ministers, and senior state officials.
His Highness the Amir honoured the 71 winners of the Education Excellence Award, who included Master's and PhD degree holders, university graduates and outstanding primary, preparatory and secondary school students, in addition to the winners in the categories of outstanding teacher and school.
A film about the 2021 Award and the winners in various categories was screened during the ceremony.
The ceremony also included a speech by HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed bin Abdul Wahed al-Hammadi, and another speech delivered by student Ahmed Abdullah al- Buainain, award winner in the category of Master's degree, on behalf of the honoured.
The Education Excellence Award Day ceremony for this year was organised amid precautionary and preventive measures to limit the spread of Covid-19.
His Highness the Amir also met the winners of the Education Excellence Award 2021 on the sidelines of the ceremony.
During the meeting, the Amir praised the students' educational performance and their distinguished efforts, despite the circumstances of the Covid -19 pandemic that affected the whole world, noting the importance of continuing the journey of excellence and acquiring scientific knowledge. 

The Amir stressed that the State attaches great importance to education for its role in promoting countries and societies, wishing them success in their future life.
For their part, the winners expressed great thanks and gratitude to the Amir for the opportunity to meet him and be honoured by him, valuing the Amir's continuous support to the distinguished, and expressing their thanks for the great potentials provided by the State in the field of education, while affirming their determination to continue their scientific efforts to achieve the ambition of the State and the society.
The meeting was attended by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and a number of senior officials of the education sector.
