* 496 referred for not wearing masks, 39 for violating car limit rule and 7 for not installing Ehteraz
The designated authorities referred 542 people to the Public Prosecution for violating the precautionary and preventive measures in force in the country to contain the spread of Covid-19, Qatar News Agency reported on Monday.
Of them, 496 people were referred to the Public Prosecution for not wearing masks in places where they are mandatory, while 39 were found violating the rule limiting the number of people allowed in a vehicle.
According to the rule, a maximum of four persons – including the driver – are allowed in a vehicle except when the occupants are members of the same family.
Also, seven people were referred to the Public Prosecution for not installing the Ehteraz app on their mobile phones.
The measure is in line with a Cabinet decision and Decree Law No 17 of 1990 on infectious diseases, and the precautionary and preventive measures in force in the country to contain the spread of the coronavirus, the Ministry of Interior said on Twitter.
