Qatar Fuel Company (Woqod) has issued an alert on a fraudulent e-mail campaign.
In a statement on social media Tuesday, the company said it is "warning of a fraudulent e-mail campaign that invites Qatar's contractors and suppliers to bid for illegitimate projects of huge value, allegedly sent by Woqod, asking them to pay insurance fees".
Accordingly, Woqod has cautioned contractors and suppliers in Qatar to undertake due diligence before engaging with such fraudulent e-mails that purport to be from the company. Fraudulent messages can be identified by noting that the e-mail addresses that were used to send them do not contain the correct Woqod domain, "@ woqod.com.qa", the statement explained.
"It is also possible to verify the tenders' validity by visiting the relevant page on Woqod's website, www.woqod.com.qa," it added.
