HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie honoured the winners of the Padel In sports championship on Friday evening in the presence of a number of officials from the ministry and other entities that took part in the event.

HE the Minister handed over trophies and appreciation awards to the winners, in addition to honouring the organisers. Further, he took part in some friendly matches with a number of players to stress the importance of sports in life, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) said in a statement. He also toured the exhibition held on the sidelines of the championship, where he reviewed the latest projects of the participating departments and their role in public service while raising public awareness on related issues.

Accordingly, he expressed admiration for such ideas and creations, appreciating the efforts exerted by the participants in this regard. Abdulla Mohamed al-Falasi, director of the Public Relations Department at the MME, stressed the importance of the event in enhancing values while putting more focus on the need to establish closer links between sports and sustainability to maintain the environment, as well as encouraging young people to adopt a positive lifestyle.

He also appreciated the efforts exerted by the organising committee in producing such a successful event with participants coming from both government and private entities.
