Katara – the Cultural Village is set to launch the tenth edition of the Halal Qatar Festival 2021 (goats and sheep) from February 13 to 21 with the participation of other GCC countries.
The festival, to be held at Katara’s southern area, will include three major events: “Auction, Elite Auction, and Mazayen”, in addition to the Sheds.
The festival comes within the framework of continuous efforts to revive the heritage and preserve the customs and traditions through a vivid picture reflecting various details of wild and desert life, Katara said.
The festival aims to introduce Qatari heritage and encouraging young people to participate in such festivals that link the present with the past, customs and traditions.
The festival, being held at Katara for the tenth year in a row, provides a platform for breeders to display and acquire the best types of livestock, the most beautiful sheep and goats, in addition to competition and motivation to improve livestock production and develop related industries.
The festival also designated a day for the Elite Auction (Elite Arab Sheep, Elite Ardi Goat, and Syrian Sheep Elite) which will take place at 7pm on February 14, 17 and 20.
The festival will be open to the public from 9am to 12pm, and from 3pm to 10 pm.
