Now that we are two weeks into 2021, I want to ask you how you are feeling? Are those New Year vibes still keeping you motivated? Or have your energy levels and excitement started to drop?
A lot of us are busier than ever before, but there are still many others that are facing their own personal and medical challenges — such as home schooling, business and economic struggles.
Whichever group you fall into, I want you to be successful in 2021 and if you are feeling that your motivation may be waning, here a few things to consider to keep you on track.
Each and every morning ask yourself an uplifting question, something like, “What do I have to look forward to today? or ‘What am I happy about right now?’ These reflective questions are really good because they help you to recognise things you take for granted and then they really get you to feel those positive vibrations.
Make a deal with yourself, this is what I use sometimes to help me overcome procrastination and get things done. The deal could be small or large, all you have to do is tell yourself something like: When I’m done with these 10 calls to clients, I can take a walk outside, enjoy a snack or have a call with a friend.
When I am feeling stuck, I like to do something to start to create flow, anything that gets me moving and out of my head. It could be cleaning my work space or organising my room. Just get started. When you have finished that small task you’ll immediately feel more productive and ready to go do the next thing. So if you really don’t feel like doing anything, start with something small and work your way up to the bigger items on your to-do-list.
If you can manage it, do the toughest task first. This will ease a lot of your day-to-day worries and boost your self-confidence for the rest of the day. If you have a hard phone call to make or some time-consuming paperwork, try to accomplish that right off the bat. The pressure will be off after that, and you will feel a great sense of accomplishment. Another suggestion is to exercise in the morning, anything that gets your blood pumping around your body.
I hope that you can incorporate some of these suggestions into your day, let me know how they work out for you.
