The Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, has expressed his appreciation for the efforts exerted to support the joint Gulf and Arab action.
This came in his speech at the GCC Summit at Maraya Center in Al-Ula Governorate in Saudi Arabia.
He also thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the government and people of Saudi Arabia for hosting the summit and its organisation, praising the keenness of all brothers to hold this summit "so that together we can support the joint Gulf and Arab action, preserve our gains and achieve the hopes and aspirations of our peoples."
The Amir of Kuwait hailed the historic achievement, the signing of Al-Ula Declaration, remembering the faithful and constructive role of the late Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah who hugely contributed to the success of this agreement.
Sheikh Nawaf expressed gratitude to the Saudi King and his government for naming the summit the Summit of "Sultan Qaboos and Sheikh Sabah" in appreciation of the two Gulf leaders' services for Arab and Islamic causes.
He also thanked US President Donald Trump and his adviser Jared Kushner for contributing to the "noble objective" and the signing of the agreement.
He appreciated keenness of the leaders of the GCC and Egypt to exert further efforts to achieve aspirations of the people.
The Amir of Kuwait praised the prominent role of Egypt and its positions in support of issues of concern to the region's security and stability.
"Calling our Declaration the Solidarity Agreement reflects our keenness and conviction in its importance, and it reflects on the other hand our conviction that restoring it is a continuation of our desire on unity of our Arab nation," he said.
GCC Secretary General Dr Nayef Falah Mubarak al-Hajraf welcomed the GCC leaders, calling on them and the heads of delegations to sign the final statement of the summit and the Al-Ula Declaration.
