The Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar on Sunday honoured the artists who voluntarily worked to embellish the under-construction 5/6 Park. 
The gesture took place during a visit of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani and a delegation of the committee, according to a statement by the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).
Committee chairman Engineer Mohamed Arqoub al-Khaldi honoured 20 volunteer artists – Qatar citizens and residents – in appreciation of their efforts to create artwork at the park.
Qatar Museums chief executive Ahmed al-Namlah appreciated the committee’s efforts to invest the talents of the people of Qatar in all beautification projects.
He also praised their continuous co-operation with Qatar Museums to spread the arts and emphasise art’s importance in society.





The 5/6 Park has the “symbol of resilience” (Sumood) that was designed by Faisal al-Hajri, a Qatari fine artist.
Another artistic feature is a collection of two pieces from Mathaf – Arab Museum of Modern Art.
*Poems (1963-1965) and *Poem in Three Verses (1963-1965) by Lebanese fine artist Saloua Raouda Choucair are also placed in the park.
