The diplomatic, consular and representative missions of Qatar celebrated the occasion of the National Day in commemoration of the Founder of the state, Sheikh Jassim Bin Mohamed Bin Thani, under the slogan: "We praise you, the Lord of the Throne, We accept your judgment in all actions."


The embassy of Qatar to Canada holds a virtual ceremony on occasion of National Day

Heads of the diplomatic, consular and representative missions of Qatar abroad raised their highest greetings and blessings to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, and all the Qatari people on this occasion, wishing Qatar more progress and prosperity. The diplomatic celebrations in the capitals and cities of the world witnessed the participation of high-level officials, which reflected Qatar's distinguished relations with the countries of the world.

United Kingdom
In London, the embassy of Qatar held a virtual celebration on the occasion of National Day. The celebration was attended by UK Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa James Cleverley, in the presence of a number of members of the House of Commons, Arab ambassadors accredited to the United Kingdom, officials of the UK Foreign Office, media professionals and academics.


In a speech to mark the occasion, ambassador of Qatar to the United Kingdom Yusuf bin Ali al-Khater thanked the health and relief workers in Qatar, the United Kingdom and all over the world for their tireless efforts in combating the coronavirus, referring to the participation of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani at the virtual summit of the Global Vaccine Alliance "Gavi", in which Qatar pledged $20mn to the coalition, in addition to medical supplies and field hospitals provided by Qatar to Lebanon and Italy.
The ambassador praised the ongoing bilateral relations between the United Kingdom and Qatar, referring to the natural gas agreement signed between the national grid and Qatar Petroleum. He stressed that Qatar is proud to be a partner in achieving energy security in the United Kingdom.
For his part, Cleverley expressed his happiness at celebrating the National Day, praising the dynamic and deep partnership between the United Kingdom and Qatar. He expressed his appreciation and thanks to Qatar and Qatar Airways for their efforts in returning British citizens to their country during the height of the epidemic. He also praised the bilateral trade, energy and defence agreements between Qatar and the United Kingdom.

Azerbaijan
In Baku, the embassy of Qatar to Azerbaijan held a virtual celebration on the occasion of National Day. The ambassador of Qatar to Azerbaijan Faisal bin Abdullah al-Hanzab addressed, in a speech on this occasion, the comprehensive renaissance the country is witnessing, in addition to the bilateral relations between Qatar and Azerbaijan.

Hungary
In Budapest, the embassy of Qatar held a virtual celebration on the occasion of National Day. Ambassador of Qatar to Hungary Mohamed bin Hamad al-Khalifa said Qatar celebrates its National Day on Dec 18 every year, the date in which the foundations of the modern State of Qatar have been laid back in 1878. He noted that this year's celebrations come at a time when the world is facing the devastating impact of the coronavirus pandemic that suspended many activities and events.

Protugal
In Lisbon, the embassy of Qatar held a virtual celebration on the occasion of National Day. In a speech to mark the occasion, ambassador of Qatar to Portugal Saad bin Ali al-Mohannadi referred to the development in political and social fields that are taking place in the country under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani that made Qatar a major contributor in development regionally and internationally.



The envoy referred to the challenges that Qatar has faced successfully, the latest of which was the Covid-19 pandemic and its economic and social repercussions, in addition to implementing all major development projects in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030. The ambassador also praised the development of bilateral relations between Qatar and Portugal, stressing the state's keenness to strengthen these relations.

Tanzania
In Dar es Salaam, the embassy of Qatar in Tanzania held a virtual party on the occasion of National Day. Ambassador of Qatar to Tanzania Hussain bin Ahmed al-Hamid, stated that Qatar has now become an inspirational development model as it looks to deliver on its 2030 National Vision. He added that celebrations this year come at a time as Qatar puts the final touches on its preparations to host the 2022 World Cup finals, which will start in two years' time.

China



In Guangzhou, the Consulate General of Qatar held a virtual celebration on the occasion of the state's National Day in the presence of Consul General of Qatar in Guangzhou Ali Bin Ghanem al-Hajri, and a number of friends of Qatar at the mission headquarters in Guangzhou.
