Nasser Al Ali Enterprises recently awarded two of its Nepali employees – Tapan Kumar Rai and Mohan Bahadur Thapa and two Sri Lankan employees – Chinthana Kumara and Thiyagarajah P Sammuvel with a purse worth QR15,000 each for their 10-year-long service in the enterprise.
Nasser al-Ali, the company owner, handed over the reward.
Tapan Jumar Rai, who hails from Western Development Region of Nepal, came to Qatar in 2010 as construction worker and later got promoted as trade worker. Belonging to a poor family of Nepal, Rai has skills in carpentry and masonry.
Mohan Bahadur Thapa landed in Qatar in 2010 to work as a helper and now is an expert in trade work. He has appreciated Nasser al-Ali and has hailed him as a good employer. He says he has gained two things – income and expertise.
Hailing from Sri Lanka, Chinthana from a poor family, landed in Qatar in 2010 to work at Nasser al-Ali Enterprises as a helper before he assumed the charge of a carpenter, steel fixer and mason. Due to his hard work, he was able to earn enough to build a new house in an urban area of Sri Lanka for his family. Thiyagarajah also landed in Qatar to work as a helper. But with his employer providing him scaffolding training, he is now perfect in various kinds of the trade category. “I am content with my work, pay and homely environment here which is quite rare anywhere in the world,” said Thiya.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Nasser al-Ali encouraged his workers to come to his office as soon as they face any problem. “My door is always open for my workers. I am not their boss. I am their guardian. I talk frankly with my workers and I want them to take good memories of Qatar to their homes.”
