Qatar media's one of most prominent stars Jassim Mohamed Abdulaziz passed away Tuesday after a brief illness.
The late broadcaster was famous for presenting many programmes on Qatar TV, which he joined in 1983. "Imrah Warbah” (Have Fun and Win) programme was one of his best and popular Arab programmes. "Eid Night" was another of his best programmes. He was also known for presenting news bulletins. Jassim also participated in many national events, especially in the of the National Day celebrations, "the Day of Glory and Pride."
The people of Qatar, his colleagues and his loved ones will mourn him through social media networks, and they will publish videos of him crying during the National Day march and his prayers to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani. The late broadcaster was famous for his distinctive voice.
Condoling his death, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani said Jassim Abdulaziz was a pioneering journalist, who was devoted to his profession and a role model. “My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones,” HE the prime minister said in a tweet.
HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani tweeted, offering condolences to Jassim's family. "We ask Allah to have mercy on him."
HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad al-Thani, CEO of Qatar Media Corporation, mourned Jassim's death through a tweet: “We offer our condolences to the family of the deceased... after a life he spent serving his country, Qatar. May Allah have mercy on him, and receive him in His spacious Heaven.”
