The Ministry of Municipality and Environment's (MME) Fisheries Department has released a new batch of 47,500 baby seabream fish, each weighing about 6.5gm, in north eastern Qatar, within Al Maroona and Fuwairit areas.
With the release of this new batch, as many as 398,500 baby seabream fish have been released in the Qatari waters. Al Maroona and Fuwairit areas are considered environmentally suitable to the growth of the small fish and protect them from predators.
The baby fish release is part of the plans of the Aquatic Research Centre to enhance the fish wealth in the country.
