The Qatar Met department has advised people visiting beaches to be careful as parts of the beaches will be submerged due to an "expected 2m tidal rise" from Friday until Sunday. The 'tidal rise' is likely to be accompanied by southeasterly winds blowing over the southeastern and northern sectors of the country, according to the department, which issued the notice through its social media accounts yesterday. The "Qatar Meteorology Department urges all to be careful as part of the beaches will be submerged" during this time, the notice added.
