*Joint Supreme Committee for Cooperation holds fifth session

The Joint Supreme Committee for Cooperation between Qatar and Kuwait held its fifth session Tuesday via video conference.
The Qatari side was chaired by HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, while the Kuwaiti side was headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Acting Minister of Information Sheikh Dr Ahmed Nasser al-Mohammad al-Sabah.

During the committee's fifth session, the two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation relations, as well as enhancing co-operation, achieving more integration in various sectors, and exchanging views on issues of common concern.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Qatar and Kuwait signed five memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and the minutes of the fifth session between the two countries. The agreements were signed by the Qatari and the Kuwaiti foreign ministers.
The agreements include memoranda of understanding for cooperation in the fields of encouraging direct investment, civil service affairs and administrative development, Islamic affairs between the governments of the two countries, various agricultural fields and improving the implementation, construction and maintenance of roads during the work of the Joint Supreme Committee for Cooperation, in addition to the signing of the meeting minutes of the fifth session.
At the outset , HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs offered condolences on the death of Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jabor al-Sabah. He said that the region lost a father and a great leader who was characterised by wisdom and good opinion, who devoted his life and effort to serving his country, the Arab and Islamic nation and the world. HE Sheikh Mohamed added that Qatar will continue to remember with full appreciation and pride the noble stances of Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jabor al-Sabah towards Qatar and its people, especially during the current Gulf crisis.
HE the Deputy Prime Minister wished Kuwait success and prosperity under the leadership of Amir Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah and the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah.
The Qatari foreign minister said the fifth session of the Qatari-Kuwaiti Joint Supreme Committee for Cooperation during this very delicate regional and international circumstances was an embodiment of the wise political will of the leaders of the two countries. "It also reflects the depth and strength of the distinguished relationship and the close bilateral ties, he said, adding that through this session, they exchanged views on issues of common interest to strengthen cooperation and achieve more integration in various sectors to achieve the common interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples.
Relations between Qatar and Kuwait are well-established, reflected in the strengthening of the volume of trade exchange between the two countries and the increase in the pace of economic cooperation in an unprecedented manner, he pointed out.
In the political field, the minister expressed satisfaction in Qatar and Kuwait's united visions on regional and international issues, adding that the Qatari side looks forward to enhancing coordination and cooperation regarding issues of interest to the people of the Gulf, as well as Arab, Islamic nations, and the world.
HE Sheikh Mohamed thanked the Kuwaiti minister of foreign affairs for the fraternal feelings in his speech and for his keenness to strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries, wishing that this session's success in achieving the desired goals and results for the benefit of the two countries and peoples.
