Qatar took part in the 2020 Annual Nato Conference on Weapons of Mass Destruction, Arms Control, Disarmament and Non-Proliferation, held virtually in Brussels on Tuesday.
Qatar was represented at the conference by HE Abdulrahman bin Mohamed al-Khulaifi, Qatar's ambassador to Belgium and head of Qatar's Missions to the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato).
Discussions at the conference this year focused on succeeding the 2020 NPT Review Conference, and the approach that the five nuclear powers are supposed to follow in order to achieve tangible results in the Review Conference.
The Nato conference is one of the main meetings for non-proliferation and disarmament of weapons of mass destruction in the world, and a forum for strategic dialogue on the issue of prohibiting the use of these internationally prohibited weapons.
