Major hypermarkets in the country continue to improve their digital presence to attract more e-commerce customers as competition for online shopping remains high.
From increasing delivery capacity, adding more items online and introducing a number of promotions and special discounts to providing excellent customer service, these offerings are expected to benefit many customers who prefer to order and shop from the comfort of their homes.
LuLu Hypermarkets, for example, now offer free delivery for a minimum purchase of QR200 for supermarket products, delivered the next day.
Those who prefer to get their items on the same day can avail of LuLu’s Click & Collect and Express Delivery.
Apart from providing details about each product, LuLu’s website also has more high-definition pictures especially for home appliances, electronic devices, and other accessories.
LuLu is also offering a 5% rebate for using Doha Bank shopping co-branded credit card and a 0% interest for six-month instalment plans.
LuLu regional manager Shanavas P M told Gulf Times that they have significantly improved LuLu’s website to make it more user-friendly and meet the growing demand for online shopping. He said that LuLu also increased the number of its delivery vehicles and trucks to ensure that customers receive their orders on time and in high-quality.
The hypermarket is also planning to reduce its minimum purchase to QR150 for people to avail free delivery.
Carrefour’s website makes it easier for shoppers to find the desired product or item when searching since each page provides a wide range of selections (brand and product name). For a minimum purchase of QR150, customers can check out for a free delivery.
Carrefour has also significantly improved its customer service as it immediately responds to various requests and other inquiries such as changing of delivery schedule/timing and product substitution or replacement, among others.
Customers also benefit from Carrefour’s My Club points and discounts, as they shop online or by visiting any store across the country.
They can instantly redeem their points at checkout service or if the customer is using Carrefour Web Store.
Customer can pay the items by their points starting from 10points (10points = QR1). Family Food Center and Spar Qatar are also among the supermarket chains which offer online shopping and home delivery services.
While Spar charges QR20 for its delivery within Doha, electronic items and home appliances worth more than QR500 are exempted.
