The South African Walking Football Club (SAWFC) was officially launched at Aspire last week.
SAWFC is under the patronage of the Ambassador of South Africa in Qatar and is affiliated to the International Walking Football Federation Qatar (IWFFQ). 
Ambassador Faizel Moosa, and his wife Anika Moosa were the honoured guests at the launch. 
Also present were the president of the IWFF Asia and Qatar, Farhan al-Sheikh al-Sayed and vice-president of IWFFQ, Derrick Smith. SAWFC chairperson Jaceline McLean presented the ambassador with a plaque as a token of appreciation.  
The formalities were followed by two exhibition matches.
