Germany's Ministry of Health announced that German Health Minister Jens Spahn tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19), pointing out that the Minister has gone into immediate isolation.
‘So far he has only developed cold symptoms,’ the German Ministry of Health said in a statement referring to the Minister, adding ‘all contact persons will be kept informed.’
Spahn participated Wednesday in the cabinet meeting at the Chancellery Office.
Germany's Minister for labour and Social Affairs Hubertus Heil went into a precautionary quarantine on Monday, after having received a notification on the Corona Warning App.
German Prime Minister Heiko Maas and German Economic Minister Peter Altmaier also went into a temporary isolation late September for similar reasons, as one of Maas' security staff members tested positive for the virus, while Altmaier went into a precautionary quarantine after the aide of one of his European Union counterparts, who attended a gathering in Berlin on Monday, had tested positive.
