The Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said Thursday that Kuwait, under the leadership of the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, will continue its pioneering path, calling for goodness and peace and being a platform for humanitarian action.

He also said that he would continue to be "the faithful citizen who works for prosperity of his nation, defending its interests, preserving national unity, seeking progress, committed to our religion and deep-rooted national principles, and keen on meeting aspirations and hopes of the nation and citizens."

Kuwait's Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, during Thursday's parliament session dedicated for declaring allegiance to newly proclaimed Crown Prince, voiced pride of rapid and trouble-free shift of powers saying the easy process reflected Kuwaitis' commitment to "rational and responsible practice of democracy.

"We, as State of Kuwait, are proud of accomplishing the process of calm and obstacle-free transfer of the authority according to the Constitution, carrying out the measures in a few days, thus depicting the practice of the responsible and conscientious democracy," Sheikh Sabah Khaled stated.

Kuwait's Prime Minster called for adherence to national unity and placing all potentials for engaging "in the battle of reforms, construction, development and maintaining our country's security and stability."

Kuwait's National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim, in the same session, affirmed that the State of Kuwait renewed its exemplary powers' transfer. He expressed congratulations for the confidence accorded to Sheikh Mishal from the Amir.
