Ooredoo has completed its third ‘Beach Clean-up’ event in its sustainability campaign aimed at promoting protection of the environment.
A team of Ooredoo staff members attended Sealine Beach on Saturday, September 19, to remove debris either left behind by previous visitors or washed ashore. In addition to the sand clean-up, the third event included a clean-up of the seabed, with the help of six scuba divers from Doha Divers Team, for the benefit of the marine environment to which the seabed is home.

Ooredoo launched its Beach Clean-up campaign several weeks ago with the social media hashtag #LeaveOnlySandcastles, aiming to encourage beachgoers to take responsibility for cleaning up their own rubbish when they visit one of Qatar’s many beautiful beaches.
The campaign is being run in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, the Public Cleaning Department, and Friends of The Environment Centre.
Sabah Rabiah al-Kuwari, director, PR at Ooredoo, said: “We were delighted to leave yet another beautiful beach with only sandcastles after another successful clean-up event. We know the last of the summer heat makes it a challenge for our staff and everyone involved in the event, and we’re immensely proud of the efforts made to protect our wonderful natural environment. We’re committed to the environmental element of our corporate responsibility strategy as a matter of priority, and look forward to continuing this important initiative.”
