A fitness centre in West Bay has been closed for 15 days for violating Covid-19 precautionary and preventive measures issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI).
In a notification on Twitter on Thursday, the ministry said OxFitness Lab at The Gate Mall has been shut down for the above-mentioned period after the fitness centre failed to implement the prescribed Covid-19 measures and steps to protect public health.
The closure came into effect on Thursday and the order is subject to renewal, according to the MoCI.
It could be recalled that the capacity of gyms, health clubs and public swimming pools has been reduced to 30% in the second part of Phase 4 of the gradual lifting of Covid-19 restrictions, while all precautionary measures that have been previously announced by the relevant authorities are to be strictly followed.
