* Placement opportunities enhance career skills and increase employment prospects

Qatar Museums (QM) has launched the Remote and Regular Internship Programme aimed at supporting university students, recent graduates and talented and aspiring members of the community who are looking for suitable work placement opportunities.

The programme, spearheaded by the Learning and Development Section of QM’s Human Capital Department, will positively influence interns’ employment prospects, enhance their skills in line with organisational and market needs, improve self-discipline and allow them to adapt to the remote working settings while having the opportunity to network and build connections.

“Many companies have shifted their focus to mitigate the financial impacts caused by the pandemic, and that left students and graduates with limited options to acquire new skills needed to advance their careers. This internship programme is designed specifically to build local capacity and support diverse participants to acquire those skills to be in a position to make informed career choices,” Abdullatif Mohamed al-Jasmi, acting director of Human Capital and director of Cultural Heritage Protection at QM, said in a press statement.

“While we all work together to tackle the current crisis, we are pleased to continue supporting the community through our cultural education initiatives while promoting sustainable growth in Qatar,” he added.

In the course of the programme, interns will be introduced to the world of arts and culture, with opportunities to work on numerous live projects and assignments with set deadlines.

Interns will also have access to regular support from colleagues and/or managers via remote working systems, group emails and calls, and coffee-and-learn sessions to ensure that they feel part of a supportive team.

The programme will run for periods of three, six and 12 months and interns will have the flexibility to either work in a regular or remote setting, depending on operational requirements and interns’ needs.

University students, fresh graduates and members of the community who are 18 years of age and older are encouraged to apply for the programme. Details are posted at https://www.qm.org.qa/en/internship-program.
