A senior official has stressed the need for people to wear face masks even after life has fully returned to normal to avoid a second wave of Covid-19.

Dr Muna al-Maslamani, medical director of the Communicable Disease Center and assistant head of the Infectious Diseases Division – Medicine Department at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), told Al Kass Channel that people should follow all precautionary and preventive in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic even if life returns to normal completely.

Dr al-Maslamani made the observations while speaking on the sidelines of a ceremony in which the Qatar Football Association honoured the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).

She thanked QFA and the Qatar Stars League for honouring frontline workers in the country's healthcare sector.

The Board of Trustees of Qatar Football Association Award presented the Football for All Award for the 2019-20 season to the MoPH for its great efforts and contribution towards the resumption of football activity.

Hassan Rabiah al-Kuwari, general secretary of the Board of Trustees of QFA Award, handed over the award to the MoPH in the presence of Dr Hamad Eid al-Romaihi, director of Health Protection and Control of Communicable Diseases at the ministry, and Dr al-Maslamani.
