The Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) at Qatar Chamber has signed an agreement with Excellence Center for Training and Consulting at Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, which aims to implement many training programs in law, trade and investment for individuals and companies during the 2020-2021 academic year.
The agreement was signed by QICCA board member for international relations Dr. Sheikh Thani bin Ali Al-Thani and and Director of Excellence Center for Training and Consulting Dr Farid Al Sahn.
Commenting on the signing of the agreement, Dr Farid Al Sahn stressed the importance of signing this strategic partnership with QICCA because it is specialized in arbitration, negotiation and settlement of commercial disputes.
He also noted that the training programs which will be offered by both sides will reflect the training needs of trainees in many training fields. Al Sahn expressed his hope to expand cooperation with the Qatar Chamber to serve its members and contribute to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030 which focuses on human development for nationals and expats.
On his part, QC General Manager Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi expressed his thanks to the Institute for signing this agreement, noting that this is a beginning for more agreements between both sides. Al Sharqi also noted that there is a possibility to create electronic linking between both agencies to enable the private sector to benefit from the programs and training offered by the institute.
In turn, Dr. Sheikh Thani bin Ali Al-Thani said that this agreement came in in the frame of QICCAs keenness on disseminating culture of arbitration and stilling skills of trainees, indicating that the aim of agreement is to cooperate in organizing training and professional programs in various aspects such as arbitration. He also said that these training courses aim to qualify legal and administrative trainees, in addition to law students, to enhance and meet the needs of the evolving Qatari labor market. Sheikh Thani stressed the leading role payed by QICCA in supplying the legal field with experts and arbitrators and the legal and technical skills necessary to manage legal cases.
He also said that the QICCA has qualified many arbitrators who have succeeded in resolving commercial disputes and providing correct legal consultations, as well as providing workshops and seminars related to various legal aspects that were well received by their attendees and participants," he added. Sheikh Thani also said that participants attending training programs will receive a certificate approved by QICCA and the Excellence Center for Training and Consulting.
