QC distributes 2,500 meals to coronavirus-hit expatriates
The meals have benefited workers and families belonging to the Indian, Bangladeshi, Malaysian, Sri Lankan, Nepalese, Filipino, Pakistani and Indonesian communities.

Qatar Charity (QC) has distributed 2,500 meals to various Asian expatriate families and workers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The distribution of meals, in which many volunteers participated, took place in co-operation with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, forums, councils and committees of Asian communities.
The meals have benefited workers and families belonging to the Indian, Bangladeshi, Malaysian, Sri Lankan, Nepalese, Filipino, Pakistani and Indonesian communities, QC has said in a statement.
The meals were distributed under the supervision of the Qatar Charity Centre for Community Development for Asian expatriates (Friends Cultural Centre) in different areas of Qatar, including Al Wakra, Al Rayyan, Mansoura and Al Hilal.
As part of its humanitarian and social services provided in the country, QC had earlier distributed 13,262 food parcels among various expatriate communities residing in Qatar in co-operation with their embassies, benefiting some 53,048 Asian, African and Arab expatriates. In this, Qatar Charity has co-operated with 20 embassies, including those of Kenya, Nepal, the Philippines, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, India, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali and Sri Lanka.
QC had earlier given health bags to workers in addition to distributing multilingual awareness leaflets and publishing 30 videos in four languages - Arabic, English, Hindi and Filipino.
The embassies have thanked QC for extending support to their communities in Qatar, which confirms the strength of relations between their countries and Qatar where people are known for their love to do good and help others, especially in times of adversity, the statement adds.
