The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the Fisheries Department, has released 51,000 young sea bream fish (weighing 5gm each) in the Qatari marine waters. This is considered the first production of the Aquatic Research Centre in Ras Matbakh, QNA reports.



The production and release of the fish comes within the programme of enriching fish stocks. The fish were released in two batches: 21,000 in the first and 30,000 in the second. There are plans to release about 200,000 young sea bream fish under the supervision of the Aquatic Research Centre's team, in accordance with scientific and environmental specifications and standards that ensure the availability of appropriate conditions for growth and nutrition and protection from predators.
