In the colours of Al Shaqab Racing, Al Dawodiya netted the first win of her career in the visitbath.co.uk Maiden Fillies’ Stakes, a Class 5 race for three-year-olds and older fillies at Bath in the United Kingdom yesterday. She was highly regarded among the competitors and considered the favourite by some racing media, thanks to a promising third place in a handicap race in her last start.
In the hands of Sean Levey, Al Dawodiya, wearing blinkers, settled a selective pace. The Richard Hannon-trained filly found an easy task in the straight and she secured a comfortable first victory with a five-length margin.
Al Dawodiya is a daughter of Gutaifan. a young sire who stands for Al Shaqab Racing at Yeomanstown Stud in Ireland. She was bought at the Arqana yearling Sale of August 2018. Her second dam has produced the Mont Ormel, winner of the Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris (Group 1).
