Doha
Thundery rain is expected in some places along with sudden strong winds by this afternoon, the Qatar Met department has said in its forecast for Wednesday.
Offshore areas, too, are likely to see windy conditions on Tuesday in addition to high seas. The wind speed may go up to 30 knots inshore and 25 knots offshore during thundery conditions, with the sea level rising to 8ft in some places.
The detailed forecast says it will be hazy in some places at first, followed by hot daytime conditions and some clouds. There is a chance of rain, which may become thundery in some places by the afternoon, and blowing dust is also likely.
In a related tweet on Tuesday, the weather office said local cloud development is expected on Wednesday noon with a chance of scattered rain, which may become thundery at times in the western areas, accompanied by strong winds. This, in turn, will cause rising dust and poor visibility.
Slightly dusty conditions are also expected offshore on Wednesday. The weather office also issued a reminder, through social media, about the marine warning on Wednesday. "The warning is expected to continue until Thursday evening," it added.
The maximum temperature is expected to be 44C in Abu Samra on Wednesday, followed by 42C in Doha and Dukhan.
