Doha
The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced the conversion of Grand Hamad Intersection on A-Ring Road into a temporary roundabout while keeping two lanes open in all directions, in addition to partially closing the intersection known as Bin Abbas.
In co-ordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, this change will be implemented from Thursday for two months to enable completion of upgrading works as part of the A-Ring Road Development Project, Ashghal has said in a statement.
During this period, Al Mahar Street users wishing to turn left towards Grand Hamad Street will be required to turn right and reach Ali Bin Abdulla Intersection, where they will make a U-turn to get back on Grand Hamad Street and reach their destinations.
Those using Grand Hamad Street and wishing to turn left towards Al Mahar Street will have to continue straight for 100m where they will make a U-turn then turn right towards Al Mahar Street, as shown on the attached map.
The authority will install road signs advising motorists of the closure, and has requested all road users to abide by the speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
