*Need to follow precautionary measures stressed

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has reiterated the general precautionary measures that people need to follow for protection against Covid-19.
While the restrictions of Covid-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures such as adherence to physical distancing, wearing a face mask and washing the hands regularly, among others, the MoPH has also stressed in its daily Covid-19 statement.

The measures are as follows:
* Maintaining a minimum physical distance of 1.5m between people
* Providing a space of at least 9sqm for each person in indoor venues
* Avoiding handshakes and all forms of physical contact
* Applying thermal examination
* Downloading the Ehteraz application
* Wearing a mask when around other people
* Washing or sanitising the hands regularly
* Avoid touching the eyes, nose and mouth with unclean hands
* Regular cleaning and disinfection, especially of frequently touched surfaces
* People over the age of 60, pregnant women and those with chronic diseases, are advised to minimise their participation in social gatherings as much as possible.

For more information, people can visit the ministry's website or call the hotline, 16000.
Anyone suffering from Covid-19 symptoms are advised to either contact 16000 or go directly to one of the designated health centres - Muaither, Rawdat Al Khail, Umm Slal or Al Gharafa - to undergo the necessary checks. "This is important as the earlier the disease is detected, the easier it will be to receive the right treatment and recover from it," the statement noted.

The MoPH had earlier issued guidelines pertaining to the precautionary measures to be followed in Phase 2 of the gradual lifting of Covid-19 restrictions. These seek to provide guidance based on research into best practices to facilitate the safe return of activities gradually, while developing precautionary measures that contribute to limiting the spread of Covid-19 and protecting people from the risk of infection.
The guidelines include the most prominent procedures to be followed in gatherings, transportation, outdoor venues and professional sports, health and education, business and entertainment, according to the requirements of each activity, with a focus on infection prevention and control.
