‘Very hot’ daytime conditions are again expected in the country today, the weather forecast shows.
Doha recorded a high of 48C yesterday along with the Qatar University area, Mesaieed, Mesaimeer and Turayna. Sheehaniya, Wakra, Mukaynis and Jumayliyah followed closely behind at 47C.
Similar conditions are expected today as well with the Met department forecasting a maximum temperature of 47C in Wakra, Mesaieed and Abu Samra, 46C in Doha (airport area), 45C in Al Khor, 44C in Dukhan and 42C in Ruwais.
The detailed report says it will be very hot during the daytime and slight dust is expected in some places at times along with some clouds.
Offshore areas, too, are likely to see some clouds today.
The Met department has advised people to follow precautions in the prevailing hot conditions, such as avoiding direct exposure to sunlight, drinking plenty of fluids and wearing lightweight and light-coloured clothing. Also, outdoor workers should take rest breaks in a shaded area.
