HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari and Qatar Chamber chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani are slated to address the virtual conference titled "Developing Partnership between Public and Private Sectors" on Tuesday, July 7.

Organised by Qatar Chamber, the event will also be addressed by Public Works Authority (Ashghal) president Dr Saad bin Ahmed al-Muhannadi, and Qatar Financial Center (QFC) CEO Yousef al-Jaida.

The conference, organised in co-operation with Al Mashoura Advertising via video conference, aims to raise awareness among the business sector on Law No 12 of 2020 regulating the partnership between public and private sectors issued by the His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani in May and enters into force on July 11.

Qatar Chamber is inviting businessmen and interested parties to register online for the conference.

The conference will also include three working sessions. The first session deals with opportunities and challenges expected after the implementation of the PPP Law, while the second reviews partnership laws and some leading international experiences. The third session discusses many legal studies related to partnership between both sectors.

Around 15 speakers from prestigious local and international organisations will participate in the conference, including speakers from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry; Ministry of Justice; Qatar Chamber; Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZA); Qatar Development Bank (QDB); QFC; Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), as well as speakers from Qatar University College of Law, and international speakers from Brazil and the UK.

The conference is supported by many leading companies, banks, and institutions. The conference is being held through Microsoft Teams application and will be published on www.pppqatar.com, as well as on Facebook and YouTube. The conference is expected to attract about 5,000 attendees, the chamber said.
