In a statement releases on social media, the Ministry said the measures to tackle Covid-19 in Qatar have succeeded as is evident from flattening of the graph of progress of the infection. The number of new daily cases and hospital admissions have gradually declined over the past few weeks, MoPH added. The deaths during these days were patients who were infected during the peak period of virus infection which was several weeks ago.
Tough there is a marked decline in number of cases, here has been an increase in cases among families, the Ministry pointed out. This is of great concern as this population group includes the highest percentage of the elderly and people with chronic conditions, MoPH said. So, now more than ever, more care to be taken to protect the most vulnerable, the Ministry urged.
While the restrictions of Covid-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures like adherence to physical distancing, wearing a face mask and washing hands regularly, Ministry said.
MoPH also advised that anyone suffering from Covid-19 symptoms should either contact the helpline number 16000  or go directly to one of the following designated health centers to undergo the necessary checks: Muaither, Rawdat Al Khail, Umm Slal, and Al Gharafa. This is important as the earlier the disease is detected the easier it will be to receive the right treatment and recover from it.
The Ministry also recommended visiting this section of its website  for regular updates and new information.
