His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday discussed strategic relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in various fields, especially in economic, investment, commercial, energy and defence co-operation for the common interests of the two countries and peoples.
The two leaders vowed strengthen the relations to more co-operative and integrated levels in all fields.
During the meeting held at the Pearl Palace Thursday afternoon, HH the Amir and the Turkish president discussed the latest developments in Palestine, Libya, Syria and Yemen, in addition to exchanging views on international issues of common concern.
The meeting was attended by a number of ministers and members of the official delegation accompanying Erdogan.
Later HH the Amir hosted a dinner banquet in honour of the Turkish president and his accompanying delegation at the Pearl Palace.

Earlier, the Turkish president and his accompanying delegation were received upon their arrival at Doha International Airport by HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah.
Erdogan left in evening after the working visit. He was seen off by HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs.
Yesterday's meeting between HH the Amir and Erdogan came within the framework of continuing co-ordination between the two brotherly countries, promotion of strategic relations, and means of supporting and developing them.
Erdogan's visit to Qatar is significant as it is his first outside his country following the coronavirus pandemic that has swept the world.
The two leaders are keen on maintaining co-ordination, whether through direct meetings or phone calls, the last of which was at the end of June, when HH the Amir received a phone call from the Turkish president, during which they discussed the strategic relations and ways to support and develop them, in addition to discussing several regional and international issues of common concern.
Erdogan last visited Doha in November 2019, when he and HH the Amir presided the fifth session of the Qatar-Turkey Supreme Strategic Committee, during which agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed to build on the progress.
The two countries are witnessing development and diversification at all levels, and yesterday's meeting was the culmination of the distinguished relations.
The Turkish-Qatari relations are an integrated model for co-operation and co-ordination between partners and brothers in various political, economic, cultural, and military fields.
The relations witnessed rapid growth since the unjust blockade was imposed on Qatar by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt.
This was represented in the increased volume of trade exchange between the two countries, which promises a prosperous future for these relations and the continued development and growth in the interest of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
