Ooredoo is the Platinum Sponsor of the 2020 Team Qatar Virtual Games, organised by the Qatar Olympic Committee.
The 2020 Team Qatar Virtual Games will run until July 17, 2020 and features four weeks of running, cycling, and e-game activities that can all be done at home, according to an Ooredoo statement.
The event has been designed to encourage all sectors of the community to join Team Qatar and stay fit, active, and healthy, while staying home and staying safe during the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak.
Organisers said the event is also an opportunity for participants to begin their preparations for the 2021 Ooredoo Doha Marathon slated in January 2021.
Sabah Rabiah al-Kuwari, director, PR at Ooredoo, said: “We know staying home has been difficult for many, with the necessary restrictions on movement proving challenging for those who enjoy exercise and fitness and especially those who enjoy taking part in sporting events. Hosting a virtual sporting event such as this one is a wonderful opportunity for participants of all ages and fitness levels to join in and be inspired by the awesome athletes we have representing Team Qatar.
“Supporting initiatives that promote a healthy, active lifestyle is a huge priority for us at Ooredoo, and we encourage as many people as possible to take part in the event from the safety of their homes.”
